The electronics industry is particularly concerned by the risk of undesirable leakage current which could damage electronic equipment such as integrated circuits. ESD Workstations is designed for the electronics industry. The primary criteria for use in the electronics industry is the removal

of any electrostatic charge that the assembly components may attract and which can cause harmful electrostatic discharges both to the operator and the components themselves.

The workstation environment must be taken into account and allow for the discharging of electrostatic charges from the workstation to the ground.

Specification of the workbench:

Comes in 2 versions :

• Adjustable with adjustable brackets (Height adjustment is carried out in 50 mm increments from 723 to 1073 mm (measured under the worktop) 

• Electrical adjustment from 723 to 1123 mm

THE PROTECTION MEANS

Protection against unwanted effects of the electro-static discharges is made possible by earthing each element at the workplaces.

It is key to do it for the whole area environment: floor, furniture, users. An ESD area (isolated) has to be created, where electronics
components are manipulated.

This area is the warranty that no electrical charge remains present.

• Worktops: ESD worktops are made of laminate charged in carbone which allows the circulation and the evacuation of the electrostatic current. 

• Coating: a specific semiconducting paint RAL 7035 (other colors on request) charged in carbone allows the electrostatic current’s evacuation too.

• Connecting elements : Electrical braids or earthing kits for elements or users complete the evacuation action. Specific actuator or castors allow the earth connection of either furniture or seats.

• Insulation elements : On the contrary, some elements need to be insulated. Insulating foam kits make it possible by cutting off the flow of electrostatic current.

Depending on the sensitivity of the components used, the ESD zone may present different levels of protection.

• ESD tray connected to the structure.

• Operator connected to the ESD mat by bracelet discharge.

• Structure connected to the ground

• ESD tray connected to the structure.

• Structure connected to the ground.

Level 4

• ESD slat connected to the structure.

The worktops are certified PEFC

The proposed ESD furniture compile with IEC 61340-5-1 relative to the protected areas.

Not all dimensions, table top options and frame colors are available online. However, a lot is possible on request.
